Mandali is pleased to present the ‘Wholeness in Movement’ retreats that will be held by our beloved teachers Mario & Gijs.
In the upcoming years, during the spring & autumn periods at Mandali, they will propose a progressive program of NeiGong & KumNye practices.

Both of these body-mind-disciplines incorporate exercises of conscious-movement , breath-work & open-awareness to cultivate vital force & healthy harmony.
As long term practitioners Mario & Gijs each have a wealth of know-how to offer, and they weave their respective specialities seamlessly together into a wholesome flow.

Anyone genuinely interested in working with their subtle-body-energy-system is welcome to join our gatherings, and delve deeply into this precious treasure that we all have within us.
Through the transmission of these transformative training tools for formal practice & daily life, may we all come to embody the calm, clear & creative potential of our inner beings’ natural state.

NeiGong Internal Skill

The internal skill of Nei Gong refers to a set of somatic, breathing & meditation practices, and spiritual disciplines associated with Daoism and Chinese martial arts.
It emphasizes training in connecting ones own body with the breath, known as the harmonization of the inner and outer energy; creating a basis for methods of utilizing power and technique.

Nei Gong exercises involve cultivating physical stillness and/or conscious movement, designed to produce the release of tension, combined with special breathing methods.
The fundamental purpose of this process is to develop ones capacity for coordination, concentration and technical skill.

Meditation practice according to Nei Gong includes focus and internal observation, which results in a heightened self-awareness that increases over time with regular practice.
What is said to be occurring as the result of continual practice is a type of internal alchemy, that is a refinement and transmutation of the "Three Treasures”, known as Essence, Vitality & Spirit; the three types of energy available to human beings.

KumNye Relaxation

Kum Nye is a holistic path of balance and integration, combining essential elements of movement, massage & meditation within a single discipline.
These gentle yogic exercises, based on the Tibetan (Buddhist) medical system, relieve stress and promote the deep relaxation necessary to experience the full benefits of meditation.

In feeling the flow of revitalizing energy that induces the expansion of our presence in space, this artful approach is both a natural healing aid and a means for awakening our so-called ‘body of knowledge’.
In this retreat you will learn to taste and embody the wide open relaxation of Kum Nye, and the guidance offered will inspire and support you to establish a daily practice to continue at home.

As Kum Nye leads to the integration of body, energy & awareness in all our activities, this inner relaxation has a vital and lasting quality; increasing our enjoyment and appreciation of life.
When we acquire the skill to open our senses and touch our feelings directly, all of our experience can light-up and our lives will grow more harmonious.

Breathwork & Inquiry

In addition to the principle practices of NeiGong & KumNye we will also incorporate complementary sessions of breath-work & self-inquiry as tools for personal growth.
The Circular Breath is a powerful psychophysical purification & integrative tool, as well as an intense mindfulness practice to increase conscious awareness.
Inquiry is an intimate process of sharing; to explore ones authentic feelings, to develop the ability to communicate ones truth, and to investigate fundamental questions of existence.

Testimonials from the last retreat:
"It was a real journey into my inner landscape. The depth of the sessions and the consistency allowed me to observe myself on a really deep level, which has left me with an open heart filled with deep love & gratitude. I felt very held, and the embodiment & wisdom of you as teachers was evident, as well as the balance of meeting the depth with playful observation + the acceptance of everything that emerged... It was a very embodied & experiential way of understanding how to use the mind & body as tools to increase our awareness, consciousness, and work with our energy... You both have an incredible way of holding space, contained with a perfect cocktail of love, humor & depth. Thank you!" (Divya)
